Every seven years my mom’s family gets together for a big family reunion. I’m talking 290 family members under one roof. I’m laughing to myself because on my trip to Arizona I noticed the back of my book reads: “This is a beautiful novel about men- their lust and rage and sweetness. Read it – or take it as a gift- when you next go on a dreaded family holiday.”
Truth be told, no one was dreading this family holiday. I can’t remember the last time I was that excited for a trip. The reunion was set for a weekend high in the Arizona desert at the Four Seasons Scottsdale Resort.
