My husband and I took a day trip to Santa Barbara on Valentine’s Day in 2010. We planned on “winging it” and ended up wandering aimlessly and ultimately posting up at a tasting room in town. To be honest, we didn’t leave with the best impression. So I was wary when we headed to SB after a night in LA. As it turns out, Santa Barbara is a true gem. Eat:
Breakfast: Four Seasons The Biltmore. Enjoy Sunday Brunch on the Bella Vista terrace.
Lunch: Brophy Bros. A great spot to enjoy some seafood along the harbor.
Dinner: Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch. This was the best dining experience I’ve had in years. Seeing Conan O’Brian wasn’t too shabby either.
Stay:
Canary (in town). We stayed here and loved our over-sized room and beachy decor.
Four Seasons The Biltmore (on the beach). The beach club is only accessible to guests and the pool looked so dreamy.
Shop:
State Street. This bustling street has something for everyone.
Montecito Country Mart (clearly I’m a fan of Jim Rosenfield’s country marts!)
Do:
Spa treatment at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa
