Lemon + Water

Over the past few weeks, my email has been inundated with New Year’s fitness and diet resolutions. I couldn’t help but notice how many articles contained information about the benefits of lemons. One way I’ve resolved to drink more water in 2014 is to start my day with a warm glass of water and a healthy squeeze of lemon. It’s widely known that beginning your day with a glass of lemon water has many cleansing and healing effects. Clears skin? Aids digestion? Boosts your immune system? Sold.

Some benefits of drinking warm lemon water fully outlined in this article

  • Lemon is an excellent and rich source of vitamin C, an essential nutrient that protects the body against immune system deficiencies
  • Having warm lemon juice early in the morning helps flush out toxins
  • It aids digestion
  • It helps reduce pain and inflammation in joints
  • It helps cure the common cold
  • It is of immense benefit to the skin and it prevents the formation of wrinkles and acne
  • Lemon juice helps replenish body salts especially after a strenuous workout session
