While I’m no expert on weddings, choosing a photographer to capture your day is important. These are photos you will have forever. Get to know your photography ‘wedding style’, check out your photographer’s portfolio to get a sense of his/her approach & identify key elements you want documented.
Without a doubt, I wanted to work with Christian Oth Studio, it was just a matter of who would be the best fit from their talented pool of photographers. The studio was one step ahead of me and had me take a fun, little quiz. I *starred* photos I liked online and met my match: Glen Allsop.
From my initial meeting with Glen, we were on the same wavelength (and it wasn’t because he’s a handsome Australian). I didn’t want stuffy/formal wedding shots. I didn’t want any pictures of my shoes. I wanted to have fun (see below). We were a good team. He did such an amazing job at capturing natural, photojournalistic style pictures. My photos feel like art.
With wedding season in full swing, a spotlight on brides’ wedding day preparations seems appropriate. It must be because I have three sisters but there’s nothing I love more than seeing photos of a bride getting ready for the big day surrounded by her favorite females. I love the emotion, the hustle & bustle (literally), the dress reveal to the FOTB, the stolen hugs & natural morning light.
Here are some favorite “getting ready” photos from my wedding day all shot by Glen, if you’d like to see:
